Fourty Four years ago July 5, at 7 PM a young couple stood at the altar and entered marital bliss.
Litte did Farrol and I know what bliss would mean. I smile as I write, knowing that you commit “for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health until death do you part.” No one told us or gave us the tools to handle the “bliss” that would come our way (not unlike what many of you have experienced, I am sure).
I am kind of glad they didn’t, as I am not sure Farrol would have signed up for all the “bliss” that comes a couples way as they walk through life.
Through it all though, we are here after that July evening long ago, more in love with each other, more committed to our Lord than ever before and grateful for His guidance, strength and provision that He has granted us along that “blissful” path called life.
God has graced us with so much, family, friends, ministry and opportunities that abound for His glory. We are not sure yet what all that “bliss” talk means, we are sure of this though, that our Lord loves us and is the model of that right kind of love that holds a marriage together,,,,,,,,,regardless. Our choice is to learn from it, grow in it and share it with each other and all those He puts us around. If that’s what “bliss” means, I guess we have the best kind of marital bliss there is. All we know is that it is right and good!
Happy Anniversary to a wonderful woman, wife, mother and friend.
Have a “bliss filled” week each of you,
