“No Greater Ambition” is the title of Pastor Doug’s devotional for March 8, 2017, which is posted below. His weekly devotional can be received via email by contacting him at email@example.com. His daily word of encouragement can be ready by connecting with him on Facebook and with Living Faith Fellowship on Facebook. Each has a unique inspiration for the day. Also, please join us for worship at our church facility each Sunday, 33rd and Avenue I, Kearney, Nebraska, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Sunday School for all ages beginning at 9:00 a.m.
I just finished reading 2 Corinthians 5 in my daily devotions and I am so grateful for the truths that are in this chapter that are so “very” rich for our life. Let me list the main ones that jumped out at me:
-Vs. 21, “He made Christ who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” How powerful is that!
-Vs. 1-2, “We have a mansion in Heaven when He says it’s time to leave our earthly tent (called our body) and join Him in glory.” Nothing we did or can do deserves this mansion made by the Master Carpenter…WOW!
-Vs. 17, “Being in Christ, we are new creatures, the old things passed away, all things become new.” We have a new “position” before God, forgiven, accepted and secure in Christ. Thank you Lord!
-Vs. 20, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ.” We have a new purpose here on this earth to represent the King of glory.
Friends, there is “No Greater Ambition” than to make it our highest desire to be pleasing to Him (vs. 9), through our character, speech, and thought life. Sure, I know we are not perfect, but we can strive each day to glorify Christ, being consistent, faithful and obedient to Him regardless of all that is going on around us.
Why, you ask? Friends, Paul’s words in vs. 14 are so good for me and I hope you, “The love of Christ compels me,” drives me on, stimulates and empowers me, refreshes me. There is “no greater love” than His love for each one of us!
Have a GREAT day friends,
P.S. Men are invited to our monthly “Men’s Breakfast” this Saturday, March 11th, 7:00 a.m., in the church fellowship hall. A testimony, breakfast, and great time are being planned.
